The Wedding Venue

Our wedding ceremony will take place at 11.30am in Bank Barn at Askham Hall. Please be seated at least 15 minutes before the ceremony to enjoy the whole event. The ceremony will be followed by drinks at the main house & then our wedding breakfast back at the barn. The evening reception will start at 7pm with more food & drink as we dance the night away!

Our chosen venue, Askham Hall in Cumbria is situated in a quiet and picturesque village within easy access (about ten minutes drive) from Penrith and junction 40 of the M6. Follow the brown tourist signposts to Askham Hall Gardens.

Travelling by Car

If you are travelling north on the M6, turn off at junction 39 and head towards Shap, then pass through Hackthorpe and turn left following signposts to Askham. If you are coming from junction 40, follow the A66 east to the next roundabout then the A6 south. Just a few miles to Clifton, you will pass Askham Hall’s sister pub the George & Dragon on your left, then turn right following signs to Askham. Continue over the river and Askham Hall entrances will be on your right. 

 

Travelling by Train

If you are travelling by railway from London there is a direct Virgin train service departing from Euston station. The nearest destination station to Askham is Penrith (North Lakes). There are taxis at the station or please see links to local cab firms listed below.

Travelling by Air

The nearest airports from Askham are Glasgow and Manchester. There are trains from Glasgow and Manchester airport to Penrith (North Lakes). There are taxis at the station or please see links to local cab firms listed below. 

When approaching Askham Hall, the first entrance signposted ‘Private’ is for restaurant and accommodation guests. Please use the second entrance signposted ‘Askham Hall Gardens’ on arrival for the wedding ceremony. Transport to and from the wedding venue will be arranged for guests staying in the surrounding areas.
